About

Fine Art Artist Janet Garcia

Janet Garcia is a contemporary traditional and digital artist. She was born in Puerto Rico, where she studied drawing and painting with artist Andres Bueso. Since she was young, she felt passionate about art; drawing and painting, mostly with oils, acrylics, pastel, and ink.

Janet moved to the U.S.A. in 1986. Since that time, she has been working with computers and has rendered desktop publishing services and design to several religious and commercial entities. She has also worked in the design of CDs, cassettes, video covers, and websites for Christian ministries and churches as well as in the production of video presentations.

With the evolution of computers and software, Janet felt it was time to merge her God-given skills as a natural media artist with her other skills and knowledge in computers, creating beautiful Digital Paintings as well (original digital fine arts painted by hand) following the same techniques learned as a natural media painter, but instead of using a brush, she uses a Stylus Pen and a Digitizing Tablet to create her beautiful Digital Fine Arts (www.JanetArtworks.com).

She studied portraiture under the direction of artists Larry Gerber and Kris Smith in Boca Raton, Florida. Although Janet has a passion for Portraiture and, has been focused on Portraiture for many years, she also enjoys painting still life, flowers, and landscapes. She is now exploring more expressionist artwork and a loose painting style.

Janet has completed commissioned work all around the Country (USA and Europe).

Janet is accepting commissioned work, portraits and non-portraits.
